I've known two people that put it down because of that very reason, and my own father who's a retired journalist and has absolutely no problem dropping the occasional F-Bomb, even admitted that while he loved the book, he could have gone without "so many G.D.s" (he wouldn't even say the word out loud!).Ah, superstition.
